Long time no sneeze.

I’d like to send out a “Hallelujah” to the Big Man upstairs for sparing me my annual September, seasons-are-a’changin’ cold. I haven’t been eating an organic, raw food or otherwise miserable/healthy diet to make this happen, I’m just grateful to be healthy right now.

Sadly, my poor old lady dog (14-year-old arthritic hip, Black Lab + German Shepherd) above is not so fortunate. It’s sad to watch her break down because she has been a constant in my family’s life since I was 9 years old. She slept a lot back then too, but she was the size that her grey, old head is now. Poor Tracy.

"My bum hurts."

This one is for my local RVA community, but the rest of you can get some insight on one of our treasures.

"MY BUM HURTS."

Standard 1st sentence after leaving the beautiful Byrd Theatre in Carytown after a movie. I LOVE The Byrd, but my bum is numb after I leave. Maybe the “Byrd numb bum” is a better name for it.

The Byrd Theatre Foundation has put in a bid to get $250,000 from Pepsi’s campaign to improve America and they need votes!

Go to this page and vote. The registration takes 30 seconds and after they win you can unsubscribe, no problem. Or you can keep voting on other projects. Pepsi isn’t paying me for this, I just think the Byrd should keep being the Richmond jewel without the 100 year old chairs... Do it!

Operation Beautiful

This is so cool!

A woman in Charlotte, NC came up with a campaign to let the world know how unhelpful negative self-talk is. She leaves post-its on mirrors, on posters, on walls, on anything that traditionally inspires women to dwell on negativity about themselves. Her Web site calls for the rest of us to do the same and send in photos of the good cheer in action.

Check out her site, leave a few notes in public areas and help get rid of the mental muck that we let pile up in our self-esteem!
